Nihon Unisys Excellence's have started selling the new version of the 3D integrated CAD / CAM system "CADmeister 2021" in September 2021.
CADmeister went on sale in July 2005 and is the only domestically produced 3D integrated CAD / CAM system. A total of more than 30,000 sheets have been adopted, mainly by mold makers.
Nihon Unisys Excellence will continue to reflect market trends and customer feedback in its products, actively enhance and improve the functions of CADmeister, maintain and expand international competitiveness in the manufacturing industry, and further improve the efficiency of design / production operations. Contributes to the conversion.
"CADmeister 2021", which will be released this time, pursues ease of use and supports the optimization of 3D design in addition to standardization and automation of design in cooperation with IoT and analysis technology. By maximizing the merits of 3D design, we will accelerate the 3D conversion of manufacturing and support highly efficient design and quality stabilization that do not depend on worker skills.
The main functions enhanced in "CADmeister 2021" are the following four points.
We reviewed the work of our customers from various angles, improved the visibility of 3D shape data and information, and reduced the amount of mouse movement through intuitive operation. It provides a stress-free operating environment.
The shaded solid (Note 1) is temporarily displayed semi-transparently, making it possible to select the elements inside the solid.
Operations such as element selection and display switching can now be selected from the radial menu, which is a radial menu display. You can reduce the amount of mouse movement compared to the conventional menu.

The actual condition at the molding site is measured by IoT technology, and the sensor data for one shot (Note 2) is visualized with colored arrows in 3D space. For example, by displaying the color display and temperature changes according to the stress direction and value as arrows on the 3D CAD data, the overall tendency can be grasped and the design can be optimized.

In recent years, the adoption of high-tensile steel (Note 3) for vehicle bodies has been increasing, and it is presumed that the reason why the tryout (Note 4) results do not match the molding analysis results is due to the bending of the high-tensile steel mold. By utilizing this function, those improvements can be expected.
We have released a function that allows you to consider and verify the causes and countermeasures for molding defects (deformation, whitening, etc.) that occur when the mold is released from the mold. It supports the designer's examination of the validity of the ejector pin (Note 5) placement position, and promotes cost reduction by early detection of molding defects.
The analysis is executed in the order of cooling process, mold opening process, and protrusion process, and the result is displayed.

By utilizing the database that accumulates processing know-how, it becomes possible to create safe and secure processing data without depending on the operator, which contributes to the reduction of data creation man-hours.
Like the existing curved surface machining data, profile machining data can now automatically create machining paths based on machining attributes (face color, line color). It is possible to create curved surface processing and profile processing data from one shape data, and it is also possible to optimize the processing order at once.
It is now possible to check the tool interference between the tool used for drilling and the product shape, and automatically set the tool that avoids the tool interference from the candidate tools. There are two types of automatic tool settings, one is to select only one tool to avoid interference for all holes, and the other is to select the most suitable tool for each hole.

Nihon Unisys Excellence is expected to ship approximately 5,300 licenses for the "CADmeister 2021" sales over the next year, including users who have already introduced CADmeister.
Note 1: Shading
A technique that gives a three-dimensional effect with contrast between light and dark in 3D computer graphics and illustrations.
Note 2: One shot
When hitting a panel with a press machine, pressure is applied from top dead center to bottom dead center, and one cycle until it returns to top dead center again.
Note 3: High-tensile material
An abbreviation for "High Tensile Strength Steel Sheets", it is a steel material with strong tensile strength.
It is a material that is suitable for weight reduction of products but difficult to mold because it can secure strength even if the plate thickness is reduced.
Note 4: Tryout
At the final stage of the press die manufacturing process, the die is attached to the press machine, and the panel is molded to check the movement and accuracy of the finished panel.
Note 5: Ejector pin
"Ejector" + "Pin" = "Extrude" + "Stick", a stick for ejecting molded parts from the mold.
Note 6: Cavity core
Parts that make up the injection mold. The upper mold (concave side) is called the cavity, and the lower mold (convex side) is called the core.
